From Market to Main, Downtown Louisville
is becoming an increasingly
more attractive place to live and explore.
All you have to do is take a stroll down whiskey
row or wander peacefully down by the waterfront. With the downtown area developing at such a rapid rate, you will be kicking yourself for not considering a move closer to the
If you have lived in or around
Louisville you are aware of the places to visit and the places to avoid. While all big cities have their “spotty
areas” Louisville’s are ever changing and as harsh as it sounds, for our
downtown area to thrive will need hard working, motivated individuals to take a
chance on moving too, and growing the area.
Undoubtedly, St Matthews, Bardstown Rd. and 4th Street Live seem
to be the go to areas for fun, however I feel they attract youth and unmentionables.
Don’t get me wrong, I am a regular visitor to those areas. I just feel they are
played out and it’s time for Louisville to grow! Our downtown area is poised
for great things we just need the right people to help in its continued growth! We need pop up bars and great food, not packed "clubs" or huge bars with obviously underage teens mixed with creepy older folks! With out good options and/or variety this is what happens!
As for me, I lived in and all over NYC for
over 3 years, and recently moved back to the “Hikes Point” area. While I enjoy
where I live, something is missing. I need that downtown hustle and bustle,
busy feeling; Being able to walk to the store, or the neighborhood watering
hole. While that still may not be the case in some parts of the desirable
downtown areas, the potential for this in Downtown Louisville is there! Like I
said, we just need the right people. Some might like the slow pace life of the “burbs”
but I prefer to be in the mix, and my next move will be to the downtown area! If
you feel the same way I do, I encourage you to consider joining me in being a part
of our great Downtown’s growth!
Oh and if you don't want to take my word for it, then just know the Wild Eggs' downtown Louisville restaurant will be located in the Mercantile Gallery Lofts building on Floyd Street near Market Street. !!!!! Enough Said!!!!!

The Sokoler-MedleyTeam holds the prestigious honor of being one of the top Louisville Real Estate teams in the Country! When it comes to selling Louisville Homes, Bob Sokoler is ranked as number 1 for full service agents in volume among more than 4000 Louisville Real Estate Agents 3 years in a row. With more than 45 years of selling Louisville real estate between them, the team sells a home every 1.2 days and is the leader in using technology to market homes and match buyers with a new home.
I heard from a family member a few years ago about an online group tha
"When searching for a realtor, I took the approach of trying to find a top producing agent in the area in volume and average sale price. Generally, agents with the highest volume don't have the highest average sale price. The Sokoler team excelled in both categories and was the highest volume agent. Since all agents believe that they are the best, the thought process was to use these criteria and the raw numbers to select someone that could perform.
What I found was a very accessible agent that leads the way in technology. Bob knows the Louisville, and in my case, Oldham County markets well. He uses HDR photography to capture very detailed shots and narrates his own videos. Top flight work!
Bob and I met initially and I made a decision quickly to use the Sokoler Team. The follow-up meeting was on a Tuesday evening with Bob and Norine. Bob put a sign in the yard, shot photos and video and we discussed a few things that I'd take care of with the house. The house was on MLS at Midnight, I had 5 showings within the first 36 hours and offer on Thursday. We countered and got a contract on the second day.
I attribute this to the very quick utilization of MLS, Zillow, and high quality marketing. I closed in 35 days! The ONLY negative was finding temporary housing on such short notice. It's a tough problem to have when your home sells so quickly...
Throughout the process, Bob and his team stayed in close contact. Lisa, in Bob's office, was great and everyone responded quickly. Everything went very smoothly and I would recommend the Sokoler team to anyone looking to buy or sell real-estate."
